savorHate to post things at the last-minute like this, but sometimes it happens. Savor the Flavor gets underway today — in fact, it starts in 30 minutes — at the TRAC in Pasco. It’s a two-day event that the organizers say is “Eastern Washington’s biggest culinary event. It includes celebrity chef demonstrations (with one of the Food Network hosts), chef competitions and throw-downs, events for kids, wine seminars, cooking classes, and a ton more going on.

Here’s how they explain it on the web site:

Savor the Flavor 2009 is the equivalent to “The Food Network meets the Tri-Cities.” In 2005, more than 5,000 people that came through our doors — and we expect between 7,000 to 10,000 attendees this year. This event will show all the fabulous food and restaurant options the Tri-Cities has to offer, while showcasing culinary vendors, educational workshops and entertainment to satisfy every palate.

Tickets will be available at the door at TRAC in Pasco: $12/day or $20/2-day for Adults $7/day or $12/2-day for Kids (6-12years) Children 5 and under free. There are also additional tasting opportunities for a fee inside the expo hall.
